oscar de la renta

Recently at New fashion week Oscar de la renta showed his ready to wear 2013 spring collection. It was somewhat a refreshing new look for oscar but some pieces were a little questionable. Starting off with the models in the runway show, they all had hair dos that resembled beehives with color strips of pink, blue and red, No No! but who am I to tell Oscar what to do. Now on to the clothes. his first few pieces had more of a business look to them. They had a modern twist on them with the latex form top and skirt.Theres a traditional ivory linen pantsuit with a blazer and slacks. Now here comes the fun pieces. A walking doily!(picture 1) Not a very well concept for a piece that your trying to sell to buyers in MY OPINION. His next set goes in to a playful patterned skirts and dresses that resemble a school girls uniform or even a teacher. Im not a huge fan of pink but the way oscar executed this piece makes me love it. Theres a balance with the lace top and the solid colored skirt. (picture 2) As the show goes on the pieces get more questionable. I feel with this piece he just took a doily got bored, took a sharpie marker and drew all over it and called it fashion. (picture 3)As the more pieces are shown it becomes more modern looks with fun spring colors. Which brings me to another wonderful creation tha i would like to call the modern day christmas tree. makes you tilt your head and say hmm..(picture 4) The little dangling ornaments or whatever you want to call them are a "unique" way to look at fashion in Oscars eyes im guessing because this wasnt the only piece that displaye these new accessories. Oscar de la rentas new collection for spring  2013 was unique in its own way. Not all the pieces were outstanding but they were all unique in their own way and thats what Oscar was going for. You can say some of his pieces were inspired but different decades, You can see the 70's, the 20's and even somewhat of the 1800's.
